The three-day teaching course is aimed to provide a comprehensive review and update of the newest diagnostic and therapeutic tools in pediatric neurology.

Special attention will be dedicated to neuroradiological and neurophysiological techniques and to their clinical application, providing guidelines and suggestions on how an integrated approach can be used to reach diagnosis.

The course will also include an overview on the new genetic tools that are increasingly used to reach a diagnosis in children with neurological disorders.

The first part of the course will concentrate on the newborn infant, presenting the new MRI, clinical and EEG techniques that allow to follow the maturation of the developing brain.

The second day will provide updates on the techniques used in older children, including the new functional tools that provide a better understanding of the correlation between function and brain structures in children with brain lesions and in those with neuromuscular disorders. Special emphasis will be given to new genetic tools and to the possibility of performing accurate phenotype-genotype correlation.

The last day of the conference will explore how the new techniques are being applied to rehabilitation.

This wide-ranging meeting is addressed to pediatricians, pediatric neurologists and neonatologists.
