The Mariani Foundation for Paediatric Neurology and the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body and Brain (MMBB), University of Helsinki, announce The Neurosciences and Music | VIII congress to be held in Helsinki, Finland, from 13 to 16 June, 2024. The eight edition of this established congress series will again gather the main experts of music neuroscience from all over the world for the premier event in the field.

The focus theme of the congress will be Wiring, Re-wiring, and Well-being. This theme reflects the unique capacity of music to build connections, both between persons and within the brain, to facilitate the learning and re-learning of skills in the healthy and injured brain, and to foster development and well-being in daily life and in educational and rehabilitative settings.

The scientific programme will include a 1 Keynote Lecture, 10 Symposia, 3 Poster Sessions, and 3 Pre-conference Workshops. The social programme will comprise a welcome event with reception, two musical soirées featuring Finnish talented rising artists across genres, and a conference dinner over the four evenings.

The meeting will be of interest to neuroscientists, psychologists, clinicians and professionals in the medical field, therapists, educators, musicians, musicologists, and students in each of these fields.
